CCBC Aviation Academy

The Aliquippa School District is excited to introduce an exceptional educational opportunity for our students, beginning in January 2015. We will be part of the launch of the CCBC Aviation Academy, a dual-enrollment educational partnership between CCBC and Beaver County high schools.

The Academy lets students get an early start on earning college credits while sparking an sparking an interest in aviation and setting students on career pathways that lead to high-demand jobs with huge potential for growth and sustaining wages.

Students will have the opportunity to experience aviation through four distinct pathways. The pathways include professional pilot, air traffic control, aerospace management, and unmanned aerial vehicles. As a dual-enrollment program, the Academy offers students the opportunity to spend half of the day at their high school then the other half taking courses in science, technology, engineering and math, taught by CCBC faculty members on campus at the Aviation Sciences Center in Chippewa.

The cost per semester is approximately $1,000.00. The cost is the responsibility of the student. The Aliquippa School District and CCBC are working with various foundations for possible financial assistance to needy students.

All interested students should contact the high school guidance department for more information at 724-857-7500 ext. 4168.
