Elementary News

Quip Bots in First Lego League Championships

The First Lego League Championships will be held this Saturday (12/14/2019) at Sewickley Academy from 7:30 – 5:30.   The Quip Bots will be competing on the robotics tables from 9-4.  Presentation judging will occur during the other times.  There are 51 teams competing on Saturday, it should be quite the spectacle.  Please come and support the Quip Bots robotics team if you have an opportunity.  Hope to see you there! Aliquippa School District and Highmark Caring Place

Aliquippa School District has partnered with Highmark Caring Place, whose core purpose is to make a difference in the lives of grieving children.  We will be working with the Caring Place to provide Grief Groups in grades K-12.  The Groups will be held during the school day with the School Counselor at your school, will meet approximately 8-10 times over the course a couple months, and will guide your child through the grief process. 

If you are interested or have questions about your child participating in this program, please contact your child’s School Counselor at 724 - 857- 7500.

Notice of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) 2019-20

CHIP covers uninsured kids and teens up to age 19. With more than 111,000 uninsured children in Pennsylvania, this is great news for families!  CHIP provides quality, comprehensive health insurance for routine doctor visits, prescriptions, dental, eye care, eyeglasses, mental health, and much more.  CHIP covers uninsured kids who are not eligible for Medical Assistance. For most families, CHIP is free – for others, it is low cost.
