Talent Search Program at Aliquippa

What is the Talent Search Program? 
 
The Talent Search Program is designed to provide services, information, direction, and guidance to middle and high school students in grades 6 through 12 with the two major goals of helping program participants to successfully complete secondary education as well as successfully enroll in some form of post-secondary education or training.
 
Services
 
Career Counseling and Development
  • Career interest surveys, interpretation, and follow-up activities
  • Career exploration, choice and planning
  • Career visits and job shadowing


Academic Advising and Counseling

  • Study skills, habits, & attitude surveys, interpretation and follow-up activities
  • Pre-college curriculum information
  • College campus visits, college life information
  • Post-secondary admissions requirements
  • SAT information and preparation
  • SAT and College Application fee waivers (when eligible)
  • Tutoring referrals


Financial Aid Counseling

  • Information on scholarships, grants, loans, & work-study
  • Student & Parent financial planning, informational workshops
  • Financial Aid searches via Internet
  • Individual information and assistance with applications for financial aid (FAFSA) and scholarships


Assistance for individuals who have dropped out of high school or college

  • Help with high school re-entry
  • Information and assistance with GED obtainment
  • Help with College/Vocational entry or re-entry
