The Quip Bots competed against 42 teams in the Lego League Robotics Grand Championship of Western PA this past weekend. They finished 3rd place in the Core Values category and 10th place in the Robot Game. Robert Signorelli, Quip Bots coach and AES STEM teacher, was named 2022 Pennsylvania FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Mentor of the Year.

Aliquippa School District and the Quip Bots hosted a robotics competition, Aliquippa Ultimate Event, on Saturday, November 19th, in the Aliquippa Jr/Sr High School gymnasium. Eighteen teams from Western PA competed in the event sanctioned through FIRST LEGO League. The teams consisted of students ages 9-14 who designed, built, and coded robots to complete challenge missions on the official robotics tables. The competition was a great success with twice as many teams attending as last year's event. We look forward to continuing to grow our competition into the premier robotics event in western PA.

Mr. Signorelli, AES STEM teacher and QuipBots coach, took his 10-member QuipBots team along with 10 5th- and 6th-grade students to Robotics Discovery Day at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh on November 16th, 2022. Several universities and robotics companies presented information and demonstrated their hardware and software. Students saw everything from a self-driving Formula 1 car to giant drones that deliver medical supplies. Read more about Discovery Day 2022 here.
